Scientific Organization Socict Continues its Work in Holguin

The Holguin branch of the Cuban Society of Information Sciences (Socict) continues its work with a series of activities. Aimed at promoting scientific knowledge and the teaching of history.

Edith Guerra Ávila, a member of the Socict executive committee, told the Cuban News Agency (CNA) that meetings adapted to the current circumstances are being held. Including panels, lectures, and book presentations, with a focus on working with younger generations.

She noted that the publication of digital bulletins related to innovation continues. Sharing information about events, historical dates, and other topics of social interest.

In parallel, the University of Holguin graduated new information science professionals this academic year. In close collaboration with Socict, Guerra Ávila emphasized.

Amid the difficult conditions the country is facing, this organization continues its work. Promoting research in the region, aimed at improving the population’s quality of life.

Among its priorities are also highlighting the figure of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro. In the centennial year of his birth, his vision of the importance of science for the development of society. And the legacy of José Martí, Cuba’s National Hero.

The Cuban Society of Science and Technology (SOCIT) collaborates with municipal and provincial museums and libraries. With the goal of contributing to environmental education and the development of values through promotion and research.
