Strategic Management for Territorial Development Evaluated in Holguin Municipalities

With the aim of assessing the progress of local socioeconomic programs, the Vice Governor of Holguin Province, Yunia Pérez Hernández. Along with a team, led a comprehensive government tour of the municipalities of Sagua de Tanamo, Frank País, Mayari, and Cueto.

First, the delegation met directly with the Municipal Administration Councils (CAM) of these four municipalities. This meeting is part of the strict monitoring of General Objective Number 5 of the Government Program for 2026. Which focuses on making sustainable progress in improving strategic management for territorial development.

The working sessions were conceived as a democratic exercise in listening, evaluation, and timely correction. Through this mechanism, provincial and local authorities analyzed the most pressing challenges in each region. Especially regarding the decentralization of powers and the optimal use of local resources.

Furthermore, the discussions emphasized the urgent need to revitalize the economy from the ground up. In this regard, Pérez Hernández stressed the importance of coordinating concrete and transformative actions to overcome the bureaucratic obstacles that still hinder progress. Thus achieving a much more efficient, agile public administration that is more responsive to the real problems of the communities.

Unity of action between the governing bodies and the people stands as the fundamental pillar of this strategy. “The synergy among all these actors is key to correcting territorial imbalances. And accelerating the local development of our municipalities,” highlighted the Vice Governor of the eastern province.

It was also reported that these government visits will continue systematically throughout the Holguin province. Under an integrated vision, the ultimate goal is to consolidate a better Holguin. Also where the economic progress and growth of one territory becomes the driving force and complement to its neighboring municipalities.
