Industriales Achieves 20 Victories in the Elite Baseball League

Industriales, playing away at Nelson Fernández Stadium. Defeated Mayabeque 9-8 this Saturday, securing their twentieth win of the season in the IV Elite League of Cuban Baseball.

The Havana Lions notched their fourth consecutive victory—their second against the Hurricanes in five meetings. Solidified their position at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Las Tunas, their closest pursuer, had their game against Matanzas suspended due to rain. With Industriales holding a 3-0 lead after four innings.

Guillermo Carmona’s team scored two runs in the second inning to take control of the game. Thanks to three hits, including an RBI double by catcher Pedro Roque.
In the third inning, the Blue Jays added two more runs, driven in by a double from Taylon Sánchez and a single from Jonathan Bridón. A hit that ended the outing for starter Héctor Bermúdez.

The capital city offense produced again in the fourth inning against Wilber Reyna. Thanks to a two-run homer by Félix Rodríguez and another RBI single by Sánchez, which extended a lead that seemed sufficient.

Misael Fonseca, in his first career start, left with a no-decision after pitching three innings in which he allowed three runs. His reliever, Jordan Williams, gave up two runs before handing the ball to Fernando Betanzo. Who also couldn’t contain the opposing offense.

The right-hander allowed the three runs that tied the game,. Also two driven in by a double from William González and one by a single from Yasiel Agete.

The Industriales took the lead in the eighth inning when reliever Leonardo Reyes. Making his debut with the Huracanes, lost control and issued three walks, one of them with the bases loaded.
Yunier Batista took over, earning the win after pitching two and a third innings and keeping the opposing batters off the plate.

In the other game of the day, played at Estadio 26 de Julio in Artemisa, the Holguin Cachorros rallied to defeat the Cazadores 4-2 and solidify their hold on third place in the standings.

Juan Manuel Pérez hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to break the scoreless tie. However, in the eighth, the Cachorros tied the game thanks to a single by Michael Gorguet.

Moreover the decisive lead came an inning later when Leonel Moas Jr., who had already doubled. Delivered an RBI single off the losing pitcher, Leonardo Ocle. Then, Lázaro Cedeño hit a sacrifice fly to extend the lead.
Jesús Enrique Pérez earned the win after a perfect inning. While Frank Navarro retired the final three batters to secure the save.

With these results, Industriales remains in first place with a 20-9 record. Followed by Las Tunas (16-12), Holguin (15-14), Artemisa (12-15), Mayabeque (12-16), and Matanzas (9-18).
