China defends cooperation with Cuba and rejects Trump’s accusations

The Chinese Foreign Ministry defended its cooperation with Cuba on Wednesday. Calling it transparent and legitimate, after rejecting accusations from the United States regarding these bilateral ties.

Spokesman Lin Jian stated that “making up pretexts and spreading rumors to defame. It cannot serve as justification for the brutal blockade and illegal sanctions imposed by the United States against Cuba.”

Nor can it obscure the fact that Washington is seriously violating the rights of Cubans to survival and development. Contravening the basic norms of international relations, the spokesman added.

“China will firmly support Cuba in defending its national sovereignty and security. And urges the United States to immediately end the blockade and sanctions against Cuba. As well as any form of coercion or pressure,” he emphasized.
