INGECO Receives National Vanguard Flag in Holguin

In a moving ceremony coinciding with May Day and the centennial of Fidel Castro Ruz’s birth. The Engineering Works Construction Company No. 17 (INGECO) was awarded the status of National Vanguard Collective. This recognition, granted by the Cuban Workers’ Federation. It honors the comprehensive work of a collective that is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

First and foremost, it is essential to highlight that the company closed 2025 with exceptional efficiency indicators.

General Director Arturo Santiesteban Reyes reported that of a planned budget of 253.7 million pesos. So 473.3 million pesos were spent, representing 186.6 percent completion.

This sustained growth is reflected in the quality of life of its workers, who now earn an average salary of 17,746 pesos.

Likewise, the company consolidated its position as the national leader in asphalt concrete production. Within its larger organization, achieving first place in cold mixes.

Furthermore, INGECO’s work is not limited to civil construction. The company makes a significant contribution to the Food Sovereignty Law by cultivating 14 hectares. As a result, over 20 tons of grains and various root vegetables and fruits were harvested last year.

Similarly, technological innovation has been a cornerstone of efficiency. The operation of the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) facilitated the implementation of 27 useful solutions. That generated an economic impact exceeding 322,000 pesos.

During the presentation of the banner, MSc. José Manuel Vega Martínez, secretary of the union. He reaffirmed the commitment of the “white helmets” to the improvement of the Cuban economic model.

In conclusion, receiving the National Vanguard Flag for the third time in its history commits INGECO. To continue promoting strategic road projects such as the Holguin-Moa and Baracoa highways.
