Taking care of our peace of mind strengthens us to be happy

Some time ago, I went through an unpleasant situation. Someone verbally attacked me instead of talking things out and finding a way to smooth things over.

It’s not worth mentioning the name or what caused the misunderstanding, because not everything needs to be addressed. Some conflicts are overcome by simply not engaging with them. True strength isn’t about winning arguments, it’s about choosing where you do and don’t invest your energy.

Some people, in a situation like this, seek revenge and seize the first opportunity for retaliation, but it’s not worth seeking immediate balance.

Revenge makes you believe that returning the favor heals the wound, but the truth is that it only prolongs the connection to what hurt. It keeps you looking back, feeding a story that has already run its course.

Forgiveness goes deeper. It doesn’t excuse what happened, it sets you free. It’s an internal act that clears space and restores clarity. You decide that this episode will no longer occupy your mind or define your days.

And then a higher level emerges: conscious ignoring. It’s not empty indifference, it’s discernment. Understanding that some people don’t change with arguments or repeated explanations. Insisting only wears you down and distances you from your essence as a person who cultivates social, moral, and religious values.

Not everything deserves your response. Not every provocation is worth your time. Giving anger to someone who doesn’t respect you is surrendering something valuable. Your energy has a destination, and not everyone deserves to receive it.

Protecting your peace of mind is a daily decision. It protects you with clear boundaries, timely distance, and the courage not to get caught up in what Cubans call “back and forth.” You’re not here to correct anyone or to carry the burden of others’ behavior.

True moral greatness doesn’t shout, it’s evident. It’s the ability to let go, to forgive, and to choose silence when appropriate.

When you choose not to participate, you regain your focus. Calm returns, your mind becomes clear, and the path becomes clear. That’s when you understand that not winning an argument can actually be your greatest victory.

The search for peace of mind has become an urgent need these days, but it’s a quest that humankind has always had. Though unfortunately, we haven’t found the answer.

In modern times, it’s difficult to escape the information that circulates. One way or another, we’re always receiving information. The news finds us, even if we’re not looking for it.

Ignoring the world’s problems cannot become a way of life. That’s not right, but understanding the root of the problems that plague most of society and seeking a solution in the right place and with the right people will help us achieve the true peace we so desperately need.

The main enemy of peace of mind is worry about ourselves. To worry about the unknown future, and worry about those we love.

Remember that happiness is hidden within ourselves, which is why I think we should be happy with both what we have and what we have little, and appreciate that being alive and healthy is the greatest treasure of our lives.

It’s time to understand that we must master our minds, because they are powerful, and we won’t have peace of mind if we don’t know how to control them. Therein lies the most important key to finding the great power that strengthens us as social beings.
