Spanish friendship groups reiterated this Tuesday that beyond the contents of the shipments they send in containers to Cuba. There is an implicit message of solidarity and support in the face of the United States blockade.
In a statement released by Cubainformación, the denunciation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government was emphasized.
“A policy described as criminal and genocidal for its effects on the life and health of the Cuban people (…). Maintained for more than six decades and rejected almost unanimously by the international community at the UN (…),” the text stated.
Also the blockade prevents Cuba from freely accessing medicines, equipment, and medical supplies. Making each syringe and each needle sent an act of resistance and brotherhood between the two nations, they added.
Elaborating on the topic, the source pointed out that the containers departing for Cuba do not only carry humanitarian aid. They convey a clear message that international solidarity is stronger than even the cruelest blockade.
