The damages caused by the US blockade against Cuba increased by $7.556 billion last year. Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced today before the Diplomatic Corps and the press.
The Cuban Foreign Minister presented the updated report from March 2024 to February 2025 and said that this figure represents a 49 percent increase compared to the same previous period. Also while the suffering of the population is incalculable.
Rodríguez presented data to support the damage and mentioned, among other things, $2.57 billion in losses from the loss of qualified personnel due to the increased migration flow.

The Caribbean nation’s historic losses over more than six decades of the blockade have reached $170.677 billion at current prices, and the value of gold at $2.103 trillion.
In his press conference, the Cuban Foreign Minister also referred to Cuba’s financial persecution and international cooperation.
He mentioned that due to pressure from the White House, some 40 foreign banks declined some 140 transfers. While also trying to deprive him of legitimate income such as medical assistance and others.
Rodríguez denounced that the United States military deployment in the Caribbean, aimed at Venezuela and its constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, also threatens Cuba and the entire region.
The minister reaffirmed that his government defends the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace and called on the international community to mobilize for international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter to preserve global stability.
He also called for international mobilization of governments, parliaments, civil society, political forces, and popular movements to stop a possible military aggression against Venezuela.
