Morales Ojeda recognizes the potential of the industry in Holguin

The promotion of innovation through the use of national resources and the appreciation of human capital as a driving force for industry were the focus of Roberto Morales Ojeda’s visit to Holguin this Friday. He is a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.

During a tour of production facilities and service centers in the northeastern región. The leader evaluated the performance of the Agricultural Implements Heroes of July 26 and the 60th Anniversary of the October Revolution (KTP) companies.

Morales Ojeda learned that the former is advancing in the industrialization of equipment lines to facilitate work in the agricultural sector. Including tractors, plows, and cultivators whose standards are internationally competitive with corporations from Brazil, Argentina, Italy, and Spain.

Reinaldo Pupo, director of the organization, noted that the local construction of robust prototypes, adapted to the country’s conditions and manufactured with domestic raw materials, guarantees usability, meets demand, and saves foreign currency compared to importing similar machinery.

With experience in the field, the company manufactures more than 30 products, some of which it has successfully positioned in markets such as Bolivia, he said.

In conversation with Alián Cordovés Toirac, deputy director of KTP, he explained the progress made in the creation of means to improve freight and passenger transportation. Such as railway lockers for locomotives and railbus turners, along with the recovery of equipment from medical institutions.

Morales Ojeda emphasized the importance of ensuring fair and dignified treatment for workers. Prioritizing their job security, timely payment of wages, and distribution of profits as recognition of their efforts.

The day included a visit to the Bucanero S.A. Brewery. and to the Intensive Care Unit of the Octavio de la Concepción y la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital. Where he praised the work of its human resources in ensuring medical care for children and young people.

In addition, the institution focused on the training of future public health professionals, promoting the university college—with 92 students enrolled at the main campus and extensions in Mayari and Moa. As well as the work of the provincial University of Medical Sciences, and staff development.

Morales Ojeda was accompanied by Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, head of the Economic Department of the Party’s Central Committee. Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of that political body and first secretary of the province; among other political and government officials.
