The Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole (GPPSB) achieved another resounding victory for the Bolivarian Revolution by winning 285 of the 335 mayoralties in Venezuela. Thus reaffirming its undisputed leadership among the people.
An initial official bulletin released by the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, reported the results from the country’s main cities. Where the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) won by a landslide, with the exception of seven of these territories where it lost.
With 82.45 percent of the polling stations broadcast, more than 44 percent of active voters turned out. Representing 6,273,531 voters, projected at 100 percent of the broadcast, Amoroso explained.
The CNE’s principal rector explained that of the 335 mayors up for election, 304 positions were awarded with irreversible tendencies, representing 90.74 percent of the total. Of the 2,471 councilors up for election, 2,182 were awarded with irreversible tendencies, representing 90.84 percent.
He noted that this 33rd election marked a new page in the nation’s history. As well as the National Popular Consultation to select the best projects, among the 37,080 that were approved for the communities.
The head of the Electoral Branch stated that the remaining data and winners will be announced this Monday by the electoral boards in each municipality. So that they can proceed with the proclamation of the winners.
In addition to the PSUV, candidates from the Fuerza Vecinal party (Veterans’ Force) party won four mayoralties. The Movimiento Ecológico (Eco-Movement), Vamos Cojedes (Let’s Go Cojedes), and the Movimiento de Integridad Nacional-Unidad (National Integrity Movement) won one each in the country’s main cities.
President Nicolás Maduro celebrated before thousands of people in Bolívar Square, celebrating the resounding victory he described as historic. Thanks to the people of Venezuela, they secured victory in 285 of the 335 mayoralties in the country, with irreversible results.
The diverse opposition lost ground in the number of mayoralties, winning 50, meaning they lost 55 compared to the 2021 elections.
The Gppsb (General Assembly) increased its number of mayoralties from 212 in that year to 285 in 2025, won, he said, by the “vote of ordinary men and women, of the unrepentant and rebellious people.”
Maduro congratulated the youth on their National Popular Consultation, which he described as a “total success.”
The dignitary dedicated the great victory of the Venezuelan people to Commander Hugo Chávez. Who “is always alive in our struggle, memory, and daily actions, and whose children we are.”
Regarding this July 28th, Chávez’s birthday, the president, along with a group of Revolutionary leaders, went to the Cuartel de la Montaña (Mountain Barracks), where the Bolivarian leader’s remains lie. In the early hours of the morning to pay tribute to him on his 71st birthday.
