Holguin received 10 minibuses as part of the distribution of 100 new vehicles for public passenger transportation to several provinces across the country. Cuban Minister of Transportation Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila announced today.
Through his Facebook profile, Rodríguez Dávila emphasized that these new vehicles will be primarily used for the routes connecting the Vladimir Ilich Lenin and Lucía Íñiguez Landín provincial hospitals.
In previous posts, it was reported that these vehicles are ideal for short trips of up to approximately 10 kilometers, with high traffic volume.
The minibuses, which will operate on a system similar to the well-known Gazelles, are equipped with air conditioning and have a capacity for 14 passengers.
The price will be 20 pesos for any segment of the route, the head of Mitrans indicated, and announced that they will not operate night service. The buses will remain at the base once the service is completed.
According to the head of the Ministry of Transportation (Mitrans). The acquisition of these vehicles will continue to be carried out as much as possible, and service will be extended to the remaining provinces.
These minibuses are part of the batch of 100 purchased by Mitrans, which recently announced that they would be used for public passenger transportation. The total number of buses distributed nationwide is 50 in Havana, 20 in Santiago de Cuba, 10 in Holguin, 10 in Camagüey, five in Ciego de Avila, and five in Santa Clara.
