With the purpose of encouraging and spreading the knowledge of archeological, historical, cultural, economic and political topics, the Casa de Iberoamerica of Holguin invites to participate in the Annual Prize of Investigation “José Manuel Guarch Delmonte”.
In the contest, organized by the House of Ibero-America of Holguin and the Honorary Chair “Jose Manuel Guarch Delmonte” of the University of Holguin, all the national specialists who work disciplines like Archeology, History, Culture and Anthropology, approaching subjects that have as transversal axis the processes of constitution and development of the Cuban nationality, can participate.
The contest, which is a tribute to Guarch Delmonte for being the founding director of the Casa de Iberoamérica, includes in the prize the publication of the winning work with publishing houses in the territory of Holguin.
The works submitted, in essay, monograph or biography format, with a length between 100 and 200 pages, must not have been awarded in previous contests.
The deadline for entries is September 15 and the awards will be made between October 25 and 27, during the sessions of the Ibero-American Congress of Thought.
The organizing committee of the contest also informed that the winners will not be able to compete until two editions after their awards.
PHD José Manuel Guarch Delmonte is the precursor of archaeological studies in Cuba, to whom we owe, to a great extent, the depth and scientific rigor with which the knowledge of the pre-Columbian past of our native peoples is approached.
