On the occasion of the upcoming Holguin Book Fair, the Provincial Center for Books and Literature (CPLL) announced the Award for the Best Book Publishing 2024, with which it intends to recognize the work of these specialists of the Territorial Publishing System (SET).
After a ten-day review, the jury, made up of Lourdes Gonzalez, Rebeca Pantoja, Adalberto Santos, Roberto Raez and Manuel Arias, unanimously decided to award the Prize to “Las aguas y el espejo. Especulaciones sobre poesía”, by the renowned Cuban intellectual Virgilio López Lemus, under the seal of Ediciones Aldabón, of the Hermanos Saíz Association in Matanzas.
In this case, it corresponds to the editor Daniel Cruz Bermudez, writer, cultural promoter and director of the awarded publishing house, to whom the Provincial Book Center of Holguin has extended an invitation to integrate the professional program of its Fair.
Regarding the award, the general program of the biggest book festival in Holguin will include presentations, panels and interviews dedicated to Aldabon Editions, while the official award ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 23.
The 27 competing titles arrived in Holguin territory thanks to the efforts of the Holguin Book and Reading Observatory, in charge of collecting and registering them during the 32nd Havana International Book Fair.
Eight publishers from the country aspired to the Best Book Publishing 2024 Award: Ediciones Santiago (Santiago de Cuba), Editorial Ácana (Camagüey), Editorial Mecenas and Reina del Mar Editores (Cienfuegos), Ediciones Matanzas and Ediciones Aldabón (Matanzas), Ediciones El Abra and Ediciones Áncoras (Isla de la Juventud), out of the 188 publishing houses that make up the SET.
