The 1st Holguin Model Fitness Event 2026, sponsored by the Cuban Bodybuilding and Fitness Association. Took place at the El Regente bar and had the support of several sponsors and collaborators from the region.
Dr. Julio César Rodríguez Díaz, a member of the organizing committee, explained that Model Fitness is a discipline. It seeks a well-defined, harmonious, and healthy physique. Without requiring the high levels of muscle mass typical of traditional bodybuilding.
Competition was held in three age categories and one overall competition, with open to both men and women. In addition to physical condition, aspects such as image and elegance were evaluated.
The female winners were Celaida Rodríguez Cruz (15-17 years old), Luz Gabriela Pérez Ortiz (18-24 years old), and Rosandra Tamayo Santana (25-30 years old). The latter was also the overall champion.
Among the males, the most outstanding was teenager Cristian Jesús Jorge Sánchez, who triumphed in his 15-17 age group and in the overall category. José Ignacio de la Peña Hernández (18-24 years old) and Abel Landrove Romero (25-30 years old) also dominated among the men.
Encouraging physical exercise and improving quality of life were among the main objectives of the Holguin event.
Model Fitness is an official category with world championships recognized by the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB). Also it was created in 2015 in Benidorm, Spain.
