Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico vie for Olympic spot in volleyball

Canada, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico will compete starting today. For a spot in the region’s women’s volleyball team at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games during the NORCECA Continental Qualifying Tournament.

The tournament begins at 5:00 p.m. local time at the Prof. Ricardo Gioriver Arias Volleyball Palace in the Dominican capital. With Canada as the favorite after winning the NORCECA Continental Championship undefeated. Which concluded here last Wednesday.

Canada and Puerto Rico will open the day’s matches this Friday, vying for a place in the final. Also while the game between Cuba and the Dominican Republic is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. local time.

The winners of both matches will play in the tournament final tomorrow, Saturday, at 7:00 p.m. local time. Shortly before, the losers will face off in the semifinals.

The United States has secured its participation as host of the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
