Spain Urge Support and Offer Aid to Cuba

Left-wing groups in the Spanish Congress of Deputies presented an institutional initiative urging the central government to support Cuba.

Parliamentarians from across the Spanish left, with the exception of the Socialist Party (PSOE). They called for the activation of diplomatic and institutional support mechanisms for Cuba.

In this regard, the proposal asks the National Government to take an active role with the United States administration. Demand the lifting of coercive measures, economic sanctions, and the trade embargo that severely affects the Cuban population.

Furthermore, the Provincial Council of Seville approved a budget allocation of more than 1.5 million euros for international cooperation projects. For development and emergency humanitarian aid, which also includes support for Cuba.

Among the recipients of these public funds, in addition to Cuba, are the Gaza Strip, Venezuela, and several developing countries. With the aim of subsidizing essential projects, sanitation, and social development initiatives implemented by NGOs.
