Recent history demonstrates that the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba has never been a passive policy. Current conditions starkly reveal its true nature: an act of economic warfare designed to subdue an entire people through hunger and despair. A direct military attack, in this context, would simply be the explicit confession of what the empire has silently attempted for more than six decades.
Also the data speaks for itself. The intensified strangulation measures of recent years have forced the country to operate at half its electricity generation capacity. This is not a spontaneous crisis, but the calculated result of financial persecution. That prevents Cuba from acquiring fuel, technology, and raw materials on the international market. The more than 110,000 postponed surgeries are not a cold statistic. So they are the concrete faces of a people denied the right to health as a form of collective punishment.
Faced with this scenario of induced collapse, Cuba has responded as it has historically: with the dignity of those who do not surrender. The doctrine of the War of the Entire People. Perfected in light of contemporary experiences of resistance. It is not a rhetorical threat but a strategic principle of national defense. Every man and woman on this island knows that sovereignty is neither negotiated nor begged for. It is defended with courage, tactical intelligence, and the profound conviction that a life without a homeland is a life without meaning.
Those in Washington who speculate about a “day after” ignore the reality of a country that has made resistance its identity. A military intervention would not find a docile territory, but rather a nation organized to make every street, every factory, and every mountain an impregnable bastion. The First Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, has warned of this with the clarity that the moment demands. An invasion would unleash a bloodbath with incalculable consequences for both sides. This is not hyperbole; it is the warning of a people who know the price of their freedom because they have paid it generation after generation.
The international community should not be deceived. While Western powers maintain a complicit silence. Cuba resists with the solidarity of those who share the principles of a multipolar world. The support of nations like China and Russia demonstrates that the island is not alone. Although its main strength will always lie in the unwavering will of its sons and daughters.
Moreover the blockade and the military threat are two sides of the same imperial coin. But the empire should remember the lesson that Cuba has written in heroic letters since 1959. In this land, surrender has never been an option. If they ever attempt to set foot on our soil with weapons. They will understand that the Revolution is not just a political project. It is the soul of a nation prepared to defend its independence with its last drop of blood.
