The Holguin Cubs have finalized their 27-man roster. Including seven reinforcements, for the Fourth Cuban Baseball Elite League, which begins on May 2nd.
Provincial Baseball Commissioner Irochi Bartutis announced the 20 Holguin players. Also who will participate in the competition. They are catchers Carlos Barrabí, Jolver Naranjo, and Cristhian Arévalo. Infielders Michael Gorgüet, Lázaro Alfredo Cedeño, Andrys Agüero, Ernesto Torres, Arley Poll, and Yulián Concepción.
The outfielders are Yasiel Andy González, Edward Magaña, and Luis Miguel Santiesteban. And the pitching staff consists of Wilson Paredes, Carlos Alberto Santiesteban. José Antonio Sánchez, Jesús Quintán, Ramiro Rodríguez, Andriw Valido, José Miguel Rodríguez, and Frank Navarro.
To bolster the roster, Holguin’s front office manager, Lugdis Pineda, added two players from Cienfuegos. The catcher Richel López and utility player Luis Vicente Mateo. He also added two players from Granma: Leonardo Alarcón (shortstop) and Juan Danilo Pérez (pitcher).

The remaining reinforcements who will wear the Holguin jersey are: outfielder Leonel Moas Jr. (Camagüey). A member of the Cuban team for the VI World Baseball Classic. As well as pitchers José Luis Brañas (Sancti Spiritus) and Rubén Rodríguez. Although originally from the municipality of Frank País, has played two seasons with Las Tunas.
Also the Cubs’ schedule will begin with four games against Las Tunas at Julio Antonio Mella Stadium. They will then visit Victoria de Girón Stadium to face Matanzas. Subsequently host Industriales, Artemisa, and Mayabeque at Calixto García Stadium.
Moreover the Elite League qualifying stage will be played from May 2nd to June 19th. With 40 games per team in four-game series. The semifinals are scheduled for June 21st-30th, and the finals for July 2-10. Both phases will be played in a best-of-seven format.
