With the presence of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC) and President of the Republic. The 11th Plenum of the CCPCC began today. This forum, defined by the party organization as a compass for the nation’s destiny amidst current adversities, was held via videoconference.
During the meeting, Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization. Presented an accountability report on the Political Bureau to the Central Committee.
Morales Ojeda presented a detailed report on the management of this leadership structure. Including a review of compliance with the agreements adopted in previous Plenums, according to the PCC’s official account.
Among the first decisions adopted, the Plenum agreed to promote Army Corps General Roberto Legrá Sotolongo, Vice Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), to the Political Bureau.
The holding of the Plenum in a virtual format, following a readjustment of its schedule. Responds to the need to ensure greater presence of key officials at the grassroots level, informing, advocating,. And managing solutions to problems that impact the quality of life of the people. The session, currently underway, is analyzing crucial political, economic, and social issues in the country.
