The semifinal matches of the Sugar Baseball League in the province of Holguin were defined after the management of the event rejected a complaint from the team of the Lopez Peña company, from the municipality of Báguanos.
According to information from Lisbet Osorio Rodríguez, secretary general of the Sugar Workers’ Union in the province, the stage of the best four teams will begin with double games and a third, if necessary, under the system of three games to the best of two.
The semifinals of the sugar league in Holguin, will be played by the cross system so that the leader Loynaz Hechavarria (9-3) receives in Marcané the team of Urbano Noris, who was fourth with 5-7 and the sub-leader Fernando de Dios (7-5) will fight in Tacajó against Cristino Naranjo, third of the table with 5-6.
If the pairings are not decided on that day, the actions will be moved to the towns of Cristino Naranjo and San German, where the third and final game will be played on the 10th of this month.
The Grand Final of the Liga Azucarera baseball league in Holguín will have five games to win three, with double games on Saturdays, August 17 and 24, and if necessary, a last game will be played on August 31.
