From May 2 to 8, the city of Holguin will once again become the capital of young Cuban art with the World Festival of Artistic Youth Romerias de Mayo, which will pay tribute to its 30th anniversary.
Organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association, the event proposes for this occasion concerts, exhibitions, dance, theater, lectures and theoretical panels, covering all artistic expressions and combining tradition and contemporaneity, said Yasel Toledo Garnache, national president of the AHS.
Its program of activities will also be dedicated to the 65th anniversaries of Casa de las Americas and the Cuban Film Institute (Icaic for its Spanish acronym).
More than 16 simultaneous events will take place in different spaces of this eastern city to promote the avant-garde art that defends the identity and Cuban roots.
Artists, writers, promoters and intellectuals will promote cultural exchange, while artistic presentations are planned for each edition, inviting thousands of participants and audiences.
Since 1993, the World Festival of Artistic Youth Romerias de mayo in Holguín promotes cultural plurality and gathers young creators who defend the most diverse artistic expressions of Cuba and the world.
