The list was updated for the qualification to the Olympic Games in Paris and Pupo Requejo, the only Cuban shooter with a ticket to the French event so far, appears with 4,316 points in the aforementioned position.

This 2024 athlete from Holguin was seventh in the World Cup held in January in Cairo, Egypt, where he reached 582 points and was only one point away from entering the finalists’ table.

Likewise, Jorge Félix Álvarez is the other Cuban returning to the world list in the 25-meter rapid fire modality and is in 40th place with 1,632 points.

This specialty is headed by Frenchman Clement Bessaguet (11,568), followed on the podium by Yuehong Li (China, 8,258) and Florian Meter (Germany, 7,170), second and third, in that order.

The Olympic qualification rules establish that only one place will be assigned per ranking in each event of the universal list, with the exception of a Frenchman who obtains a ticket in the qualifying events.

For the Cubans, the last chance to win a place at the summer event in the French capital will be the Americas Championship, to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in April.
