Three players from Holguin in the national softball draft

Three players from Holguin were summoned to the national men’s softball draft, from which the Cuban team that will participate in the Pan American Championship, a qualifier for the 2025 World Championship, will be selected.

The group is made up of short stop Luis Raúl Domínguez, undisputed starter at his position, and he will be accompanied by the outfielder Aníbal Vaillant and pitcher Rafael Guerra, from Holguin and Mayari, respectively.

Also on the 29-athlete roster are Alaín Román, thrower from Ciego de Avila, as well as infielders from Santiago de Cuba: Yesander Rodríguez, Reynaldo Lamote and Manuel Savigne, along with Héctor Castillo, a player from Las Tunas.

The pre-selected players will meet in the province of Ciego de Avila from April 25 to begin training in order to take part in the qualifier in Sincelejo, Colombia, which will be held from April 7 to 14, and will grant five tickets for the 2025 World Championship.

The Cuban softball pre-selection is made up as follows:

CATCHER (4): Reinier Vera (Ciego de Avila,), Andrés Reyna (Santiago de Cuba), Odlanier Milanés (GRANMA) and Marco Pozo (PINAR DEL RIO).

INFIELDERS (9): Yesander Rodríguez (Santiago de Cuba), Yuri Rodríguez (Ciego de Avila,), Juan Ríos (Santiago de Cuba), Luis Raúl Domínguez (HOLGUIN), Osvaldo Pérez (VILLA CLARA), César Boza (GRANMA), Raciel Brocat (Ciego de Avila), Jonatán Leyva (LAS TUNAS) and José Fuentes (HAVANA).

OUTFIELDERS (7): Aníbal Vaillant (HOLGUIN), Reynaldo Lamote (Santiago de Cuba), Manuel Savigne (Santiago de Cuba), Yasmany Álvarez (HAVANA), Yurisandre Ramos (Ciego de Avila), Héctor Castillo (LAS TUNAS) and Oscar Boulot (Santiago de Cuba).
