On the occasion of the celebration of the Builder’s Day, this December 5th, the top political and government leadership of the municipality of Mayari sent a congratulatory message to the workers of this sector, thanking them for their contributions in the midst of complex circumstances, which represent challenges for the fulfillment of their social and economic mission.
The workers who build the East-West Sater Transfer, those in charge of sustaining the building material industry and those grouped in organizations known as CONAM, Umbrales, Domus, ECI 3, Castores and ECOI 17 are among those who deserve recognition on this day, according to the note.
In correspondence with the date, which especially remembers the Moncada fighter, Armando Mestre Martínez, the hydraulic workers, members of the National Union of Construction Workers, are also recognized.
Mayari’s contributions were vital at the time of deciding that Holguin will be the headquarters of the central activities for the Builder’s Day in Cuba, fact marked with the national act in the scenario where the Levisa dam is being built.
The creation of a casita infantil (children’s day care center) in a premise of Empresa Constructora de Obras de Ingeniería número 16 (COI 16), the progress in the works of the East-West Water Transfer in the midst of adverse circumstances, the contributions in food production and the elimination of dirt floors, were among the main challenges of the sector in Cuba on December 5.
Among the main challenges of the sector in the territory, the fulfillment of plans for the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of housing and the use of alternative sources for the production of materials stand out.
