With the motivation that implies having been selected as national headquarters for Cuban Builder’s Day, the province of Holguin organizes a broad program of activities in salute to December 5.
The Provincial Construction Union promotes, in the first place, the recognition to its more than 11,700 members, who have made possible, in the midst of not few economic limitations, the fulfillment of essential tasks that make the territory stand out at national level.
Leticia La Rosa Nodarse, maximum union leader of the constructors in this eastern province, emphasizes that the comprehensive results in the economic, productive and union orders and those stemming from the hydraulic will, promoted by the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, made Holguin worthy of the national headquarters for this important date.
Holguin develops activities in greeting to the Builder’s Day
With seven enterprises with the status of National Vanguard, the progress of several works associated to the East-West Water Transfer, the operation of two children’s houses and a significant work to eliminate dirt floors and improve the living conditions of its workers, Holguin will celebrate the Builder’s Day in the Engineering Works Construction Company No. 16 (Castor), located in the municipality of Mayari.
That entity, linked to several hydraulic works of impact and whose staff of 463 workers embodies the best values of Cuban builders, will carry out the main event in the vicinity of the Levisa Dam, a work of great relevance that they undertake as part of the East-West Transfer.
Until December 8, a number of activities will take place, which are intended to live up to the recognition earned by the territory, including meetings with young people and vanguard workers, support tasks for food production and actions of adornment in work places.
Also, during the commemoration day, several companies will be granted the new status of Provincial Vanguard and awards will be given to outstanding workers.
