Eleven research works in different themes were presented in the Municipal Research Event “José Agustín Castañeda”, in the city of Holguín.
The jury was integrated by Dr.C Ana Castro, MsC Isairis París and MsC Bárbara Pupo, who after listening to the papers and their defenses regarding their impact and completion, awarded three relevant prizes.
The first prize went to the research “Multimedia of Cuban Music, Holguin experience”, authored by MsC. Ramón Collado González, carried out with the collaboration of radio advisor Flor Vega Hornia, and writer and researcher Zenovio Hernández.
This multimedia contains Media Teka buttons and proposes a musical journey through the history of Cuban music with 70 auditions of concert music in stages. The results provide important tools for use in art academies, educational institutions and the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur).
Collado, upon receiving the award, said: the research began in 2020 and had limitations in the Covid-19 stage, among other factors. We have decided to socialize it on a non-profit basis in the education system, culture and tourism.
The Multimedia has a music band and musicians from Holguín. I hope that in the first quarter of 2024 it will be in all the cultural institutions of the country”, concluded Collado.
The second prize went for the paper “El acercamiento a la historia de la Escuela Profesional de Música “José María Ochoa” (An approach to the history of the “José María Ochoa” Professional School of Music) by MsC. Ana Margarita Cordies Derouville, and Lic. Ana Margarita Cordies Derouville, and MsC. Aída Peña García, for its historical value and thorough research.
The presentation was given by Maylin Martín González, professor of the institution, who showed the results of the academy in its history. Among these “the graduation of 603 students to date, and the emergence of groups from this institution including the Guitar Orchestra, Almas Quartet, formed in 2000, Golden Voices in 2004. And the Jazz Band of the Conservatory itself” with multiple awards in international events in Havana”.
At the same time it was recognized the work “The systematization of the educational orientation through the artistic-dance creation of the University of Medical Sciences”, a research carried out by MsC. Eddy Fuentes, art instructor with more than 25 years of experience in the Manuel Dositeo Aguilera House of Culture.
After receiving the award Fuentes declared: “We realized the insufficiency to carry out our work then we elaborated the programs of the popular and traditional culture of Holguin and Cuba, we created a dance group that has obtained national prizes. This has an impact on the integral results of the doctors and of university extension.
We have achieved that they graduates with suma cum laude degrees, with a comprehensive culture and communicative skills in their practice, said Fuentes.
In the category of outstanding, the research entitled “José Agustín Castañeda, Polímata holguinero: propuesta para rectificar una inexplicable omisión” (“José Agustín Castañeda, Polímata Holguinero: proposal to rectify an inexplicable omission”) by researchers Kenia Ricardo and Rafael Ángel Cárdenas Tauler was recognized.
This study shows the significant contributions of historian, professor and lawyer from Holguin who is recognized, among other merits, for having achieved the most complete collection of polymaths in the world, located in the city of Holguin and in museums of other nations.
Castañeda, creator of the first museum of the city of Holguin, and holder of one of the most transcendental stories of the Cuban culture and science, however, it does not appear in the history of Cuba, warned the speaker.
At the same time, a mention was given to “Faces and traditions of cassava” by Mr. Manuel de Jesús Hernández.
The event, held at the headquarters of the Colonia China in Holguin Colony, was presided over by Odalis del Monte, director of Culture in the municipality of Holguin, who highlighted the importance of the event and the importance of continuing research from the communities.
