However, Arnaldo Rodriguez, national commissioner of sport shooting, did not rule out the possibilities in that same test of Jorge Felix Alvarez, monarch in the continental multisport event in Lima 2019, in which Pupo finished in second place.
Hence, it would not be impossible to repeat the 1-2 of four years ago, although there are rivals to watch out for, such as an American and a Peruvian, he said.
He also highlighted the podium options of Laina Perez and Jorge Grau, owners of the individual crown in the 10 m air pistol and in the mixed modality, in the Peruvian capital.
The executive explained to ACN that the objective of Cuban representation will be to achieve a gold medal, a silver medal and three bronze medals, with a team of 15 shooters, five of them debutants in events of this type.
He added that the shooting sport in Santiago de Chile will give 18 tickets to the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, and obtaining some of those quotas will be another of the objectives, he assured.
