Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez sent condolences on Tuesday to U.S. activist and Executive Director of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO), Gail Walker, on the death of her brother Richard Manson Walker.

“Dear friend and compañera Gail Walker, we accompany with sincere sorrow your pain and that of the entire Walker family at times like this,” said the President on the social network X, formerly Twitter.
The Cuban leader pointed out that with Lucius (Walker), “we learned to feel that you are part of the Cuban family.   Receive our embrace”.

On that platform, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Fernando González, also conveyed their deepest condolences.

Through her Facebook account, Gail Walker reported on Monday the death of her brother, who was the victim of a heart attack, a few days before the 13th anniversary of the death of her father Lucius Walker (1939-2010), founder of the interfaith organization Pastors for Peace.

Pastor for Peace was founded by US Reverend Lucious Walker in support of Cuba in its fight against the blockade by the White House for over 60 years.
