Cuba and Egypt discuss bilateral ties and global summit

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry agreed to promote bilateral relations and discussed the upcoming G77-China Summit, which will take place in Havana.

Both officials highlighted the state of ties between the two countries.

In this regard, Shoukry expressed Egypt’s aspiration to boost economic and trade relations with Cuba. He also thanked the coordination with the Caribbean island in international multilateral forums and the efforts made by the Cuban presidency in the Group of 77 and China.

For his part, the head of Cuban diplomacy expressed his country’s gratitude for the notable development of ties between Havana and Cairo.

The parties highlighted during the conversation the growing ties between the two nations and the desire for Egypt’s participation in the next G77-China Summit, scheduled for September 15 and 16.

Shoukry emphasized the historical importance of relations between the two countries and reaffirmed Egypt’s interest in strengthening them.

Rodriguez expressed his country’s appreciation for the remarkable growth of bilateral relations. On his side, Shoukry valued the historic ties between Egypt and Cuba since the foundation of diplomatic relations between them in 1958.The foreign minister said that Egypt aspired to bolster economic cooperation and trade with Cuba, expressing appreciation for the current coordination with the Latin American state in the framework of the international community.
