Mentes Callejeras group took part in the official inauguration of the summer season program in the municipality of Holguin, which included several activities, as in the large parking lot of Calixto Garcia baseball stadium, where several artistic units of the province participated in the gala for the selection of the theme song that will accompany the people during the current holiday season.
The groups Clase Urbana, Crazy Rapers, Banda América and Mentes Callejeras presented their works for the contest, which were evaluated by a prestigious jury composed by the conductor of the Orquesta Avilés, Gastón Allen, soloist Lucrecia Marín and singer Norberto Leyva.
The main authorities of the Communist Party of Cuba, PCC, the Government and Culture, in the territory accompanied the Holguineros who enjoyed the show directed by Carlos López.
Luis Carlos Castillo Magaña, secretary of the municipal committee of the Young Communist League (UJC), officially inaugurated the summer season program in the municipality of Holguin, and alluded to some of the main recreational spaces for this summer period; he highlighted the link of the youth with the communities and the main contribution of young people to food production, at the same time he assured that this will be a summer where the youths’ joy and enthusiasm will prevail.
At the end, the jury announced that the theme song that will preside over the activities of the summer stage in the province will be Verano por Amor by the popular group Mentes Callejeras, with almost 20 years in the Cuban music scene.
Mentes Callejeras is a young Cuban group that performs urban music. Based in the Cuban province of Holguin, they have collaborated with important important artists.
