Holguin pioneers receive the blue neckerchief

The monument in honor to Commander Ernesto “Che” Guevara, in the province of Holguin, was the place chosen for the initiation ceremony of the first graders of the Dalquis Sanchez Pupo Elementary School into the Jose Marti Pioneers Organization.

With great joy parents, relatives, teachers and education directors lived this moment, when the children received the blue neckerchief that identifies them as Moncadistas pioneers, a new stage in which they will have to participate in extracurricular activities, practice the rules of formal education and comply with the duties of the organization that brings them together.

The children also received the badge that recognizes them as little explorers, a movement that aims to carry out activities in direct contact with nature as, directed to promote their preparation for daily life.

Yanay Ramos Reyna, municipal president of the OPJM, in her opening remarks expressed that Che’s example is not only a goal, but a commitment to continue defending the achievements of the Cuban Revolution, from the classroom, being better students in the academic and formative aspects.

In this space they were given the badge that recognizes them as little explorers, a movement that promotes the development of activities in direct contact with nature, aimed at preparing them for everyday life.

The ceremony was attended by Bárbara Ramírez Díaz, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Osmany Viñals García, First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the PCC, authorities of the territory, leaders of the Communist Youth Union, mass organizations and representatives of the educational sector.

Nearly nine thousand first grade students in this province wore this important attribute and join the more than 92 thousand that make up the OPJM, in charge of training the future continuators of Cuba’s social, cultural, scientific and economic work.
