Holguin athlete Silva, 3 medals at Copa Tango in Argentina

The star paralympic table tennis player Yanelis Silva Zamora just reached two silver medals and a bronze one at Copa Tango tourney, held every year in Argentina.

The top Holguin player grabbed the silver medals together with British athlete Simon Mantones, but lost (3-0) the final match off the French duet of Nicolas Savant and Floras Vautier.

In the women match Silva that played together with Chilean Tamara Leonelli was unable to beat French player Flora Vautier and Brazilean Tahis Fraga, who edged their rivals 1-3.

Copa Tango in Argentina

Fraga, the events champion, went on over Silva (3-1) in semifinals, where Cuban athlete stood third.

Jorge Luis Vega Guerrero, Silvas coach, confirmed from Havana that her pupil took part in the event without the needed international competition, in such a sense, the goal was weighing her possibilities sight the Para Pan-American Games in Santiago de Chile.

Vega also commented that this tourney was far much competitive than the previous one, attended by very good athletes from the American continent and Europe, everyone focused on the preparation sight the Para Panamerican and the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.

Table tennis player Yanelis Silva Zamora, the best disabled athlete from Holguín of all time, has received tickets for World Championshipa, and other international tourneys after many years of struggling competitively with excellent results, in a class 3 wheelchair.
