Political and governmental authorities in Holguin evaluated the capabilities of the Electric Company’s Transformer Repair and Reclosing Workshop this Wednesday. Following its technological and structural modernization.
The facility underwent a renovation process that included the installation of new winding machines. Adapted by the KTP Company, which will allow for progress in the rewinding of transformers, a key phase in their repair.
In the current energy context of the country, this equipment is essential for adjusting voltage levels in the electrical distribution system. A transformer failure can interrupt service to entire communities or affect production processes. And its repair usually requires time and specialized resources.
With the completed upgrades, the workshop plans to soon transition from repairs to the complete refurbishment of transformers. This would provide greater autonomy to the province, reduce fuel consumption by eliminating the need to transport equipment to Manzanillo. And shorten replacement times within the Holguin electrical system.
According to reports, they are currently awaiting the arrival of essential supplies to begin these actions. While the necessary conditions continue to be created to consolidate this progress.
