Nearly Three Decades of publishing house Ediciones La Luz in Holguin

The Holguin-based publishing house Ediciones La Luz. An imprint of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Holguin. Celebrated another anniversary on May 7th during the 33rd edition of the Romerías de Mayo (May Pilgrimages).

Twenty-nine years ago, with the presentation of José Luis Serrano’s poetry collection *Bufón de Dios* (God’s Jester). Amidst the celebrations of the young artists’ festival in 1997. A publishing house was born in this northeastern region that would become a beacon for young Cuban literature.

Ediciones La Luz is nationally recognized for its work promoting the book as a work of art. And for its literary promotion through various formats and platforms. As well as for its extensive catalog, which includes both international authors and emerging Cuban writers.

During these Romerías, its doors have remained open to young creators. With panels and presentations of new publications in its regular space, Palabras Compartidas (Shared Words).

The presentation of the poetry collection “De cada día” (Of Each Day) by Fina García Marruz. Also the celebration of Ediciones La Luz’s 29th anniversary brought the event to a close.

As part of the “Abrirse las Constelaciones” (Opening the Constellations) literary gathering at La Luz’s headquarters. Editor Liset Prego and designer Robert Ráez presented this volume. Which contains previously unpublished verses by the poet, essayist, and literary researcher.

Nearly three decades after its founding, young writers, journalists, researchers, intellectuals, and readers continue to seek out and listen to La Luz. Through the spaces offered by this publishing house of the AHS (Hermanos Saíz Association).
