The Ode to Joy returned to the Cuban city of parks this Sunday. The one that announces that for a week Holguin will host young creators celebrating this 33rd World Festival of Artistic Youth.
Cultural institutions and artistic groups, accompanied by the people of Holguin. Put on a show, as usual, in front of the La Periquera Provincial Museum, to open a new week of pilgrimages in Holguin. With the inaugural parade of this edition of the May Pilgrimages (Romerías de Mayo).
In the presence of the highest political and governmental authorities of the region.Tthe Provincial Directorate of Culture, and the Hermanos Saíz Association, the organization managing this event. Companies such as La Campana, Codanza, the Guiñol Theater, the Rodrigo Prats Lyric Theater of Holguin. As well as other institutions, once again showcased Holguin’s culture and demonstrated how, from eastern Cuba, there is a continued commitment to young talent.
The opening remarks, delivered by Alexis Triana, founder of the Romerías, evoked the history of this grand celebration. And the importance of holding it, even with the current limitations.
Moreover the Romerías de Mayo festival returns with a diverse program that, despite economic limitations. It continues to bring together, in various venues throughout the city. All the artistic expressions that transform Holguin into the world capital of young art between May 2nd and 8th.
