The Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) in Felton came online shortly after 1:00 a.m. To contribute to the recovery and stability of the National Electric System (SEN) following Saturday’s outage.

Moreover the addition of the Felton plant represents a significant contribution to the country’s electricity generation. At a time when the National Electric System needs to strengthen its stability and supply capacity.
The power outage on March 21st occurred within a context of increasing economic pressure on Cuba from the United States. Which has prevented oil shipments to the island for the past three months.
