President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated Cuban Leyanis Pérez this Saturday. For retaining her world indoor title in Torun with a jump of 14.95 meters.
“Leyanis, again! Many congratulations to the Pinar del Rio native for retaining your world indoor title in Torun with a jump of 14.95 meters. Equaling the best mark of the year. And against none other than Yulimar Rojas, who once again performed strongly with 14.86,” the president wrote on his social media.
“It’s no coincidence: it’s consistency and talent. For the third time, the world triple jump queen is Cuban,” the president continued.
Pérez reaffirmed her World Indoor Triple Jump title on March 21st at the Torun 2026 Championships. Leaving Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas in second place with a jump of 14.86 meters. Once again demonstrating her mastery and courage despite her veteran status. Senegalese Saly Sarr took bronze with a jump of 14.70 meters (a personal best).
The Cuban athlete dominated the World Indoor Athletics Championships for the second time. Also this time at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena in Torun, Poland. With a jump of 14.95 meters, equaling her season’s best.
