Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel sent warm congratulations to the workers of the national press on the occasion of their day.
“I embrace the Cuban Press, a worthy companion in all the battles of the Revolution, both within and outside the homeland. Which has always told the story from the front lines, both in daily life and on internationalist missions.” He expressed in a post on the social network X.
“Alongside combatants, doctors, teachers, and construction workers. It has been and is a soldier in the Martí-inspired way that combat demands when facing the enemy,” he added.
For his part, the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Party, Roberto Morales, alluded to the date and joined in the congratulations. “With the conviction that the revolutionary spirit that animated the newspaper Patria” will always live on in the press workers.
On March 14th, 1892, the newspaper Patria was founded by the Apostle of Cuba, José Martí.
On this date, press professionals on the island celebrate their day and reaffirm their commitment to truth and justice. Working to ensure that it remains a bastion in service to the people.
