The Venezuelan Minister of the Interior, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, assured this Saturday that following the United States’ attacks on civilian and military installations. The country is calm and united with the popular, military, and police forces.
In statements to the press, the political leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) affirmed that the nation “is completely calm. That what they attempted with the bombs and missiles they launched, they only partially achieved.”
Also they expected the “people to perhaps act out in a cowardly, uncontrolled manner. No, cowards are a thing of the past here,” he added. Cabello called for calm and urged trust in the leadership and the high command of the political and military leadership. In the face of the current situation, stressing the need for “great calm.”
“Let no one succumb to despair, let no one make things easier for the invading enemy, the terrorist enemy that cowardly attacked us. Let no one make things easy for them,” he emphasized.
He stressed that the people are ready for any situation or action that attempts to go beyond the cowardly attacks they carried out. The member of the PSUV Political Bureau stated that the military, police, and our people. In that unity that President Nicolás Maduro called for, “are active and deployed to guarantee the peace and tranquility of the country.”
Venezuela knows it has been attacked, and the people know what they must do, he emphasized.
“This is not the first struggle and battle that some have waged against this people. Believing they will defeat us, that they will tarnish the honor and dignity of the soldier, the police officer, the ordinary Venezuelan,” he indicated. The political leader stated that they have managed to survive all circumstances. Beyond any one of us, “here is a people who are organized and know what they have to do,” he insisted.
“We hope the world will speak out about this attack. International organizations will not publicly acknowledge their complicity in the face of this invasion. Futhermore the attack and murder of civilians, bombs falling on buildings, on places inhabited by civilians.”
“Will these international organizations be complicit in this massacre? This is simply a call for reflection,” he affirmed. Meanwhile 28 weeks had passed since the first threats when “they carried out a treacherous attack against a sleeping people. And they cowardly attacked this people.”
Futhermore we have called on the political organizations of this country to speak out. To remain vigilant, and not to fall for their provocations or succumb to despair, he emphasized.
Let us have complete faith, he emphasized, and at the end of this battle the people of Venezuela will emerge victorious. For “after these attacks we will prevail.”
