Brazil Warns of Armed Intervention in Venezuela

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva warned on Saturday. That an armed intervention in Venezuela would be a “humanitarian catastrophe in the hemisphere and a dangerous precedent for the world.”

During the 67th Summit of Heads of State of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur). The president reiterated his commitment to a “prosperous and peaceful” South America.

Furthermore, the head of state criticized the position of his Argentine counterpart, Javier Milei. Who called on Mercosur member states to support the threats of the US administration under Donald Trump.

In this regard, Lula pointed to the Argentine Falkland Islands, long disputed with the United Kingdom. As an example of the dangers of interference and the military threat of an extra-regional power in Latin American territory.

Yesterday, during a conference of the Argentine Workers’ Central Union, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Adolfo Pérez Esquivel called governments like Milei’s. Also which he described as sympathetic to US warmongering in the Caribbean, “submissive and vassals.”

The activist emphasized that the only path to regional prosperity is the unity of our nations.

Mexico’s stance against any US intervention in Venezuela. As well as its support for sovereignty and a peaceful resolution of disputes, dominated the news agenda this week.
