Mattress Repair Priority in Holguin for Those Affected by Melissa

The Holguin Provincial Company of Local Industries (AVIL) is participating in mattress repairs in various municipalities affected by the flooding caused by Hurricane Melissa.

Ismara Fleita Limonta, the company’s director, told the Cuban News Agency that the workshop in the provincial capital is currently repairing 20 mattresses. 10 of which are from the Cacocum area and the remaining 2 from Urbano Noris.
She added that the workshop for people with disabilities in San German is repairing 15 mattresses from that area. With the goal of adding more as the existing ones are processed.

Fleita Limonta emphasized that AVIL’s workshops are integrating the repair of these items into their production processes. A task that has become a priority due to the need and shortage of these products at their facilities.

Avil provides services to the population in various municipalities through community outreach by its workshop workers. It manufactures textiles, including alterations to school uniforms, and establishes partnerships with self-employed workers.

Industrias Locales (Avil) was founded in 1997 and has three basic business units that promote a diverse range of utilitarian and decorative items for sale both domestically and internationally through online sales.
