Minem Leads Comprehensive Presence at FIHAV 2025

Under the banner of a coordinated national effort, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) is leading a comprehensive presence at the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2025). A space that transcends commerce to become a showcase of Cuba’s commitment to advancing energy sovereignty.

Rosell Guerra Campaña, Director of Renewable Energy at Minem, outlined the objectives of this thematic pavilion and the country’s roadmap. “At this fair, several organizations, business groups, and SMEs have joined forces in a thematic area, the central pavilion,” Guerra explained to Cubadebate.

He also highlighted the participation of national industry, particularly electronics. Which will present innovations such as “a panel that receives solar radiation and produces electricity and hot water” and “streetlights with battery backup.”

In addition, they will showcase advancements in the design of “charging stations for electric vehicles powered by renewable solar energy” and projects for the Cuban manufacture of batteries and inverters, vital equipment for the sector.

Regarding the National Electric Union, he noted that it will exhibit alongside its main international suppliers. “Primarily Chinese investors,” but took the opportunity to thank Vietnam, the Canadian government, and the European Union for their collaboration.

SMEs, for their part, will exhibit a wide range of products and services. Primarily for the residential sector and for ensuring the electrical supply of industries.

Cuban universities will occupy an essential place. The ENUFRE group, comprised of 11 higher education institutions, will have its own space to “show investors the services that Cuban universities can offer” and a group of “innovations of national interest.”
