Holguin is preparing to host the 10th National Seminar “To the General of the Three Wars.” Convened by the Martí Youth Movement (MJM), from December 8-11th, 2025, in homage to Calixto García Íñiguez.
This event will also be held in collaboration with the University of Holguin (UHo), the Birthplace Museum, the Plaza de la Revolución monument complex, and the Union of Young Communists (UJC) of the province. To foster debate and exchange on the thought and actions of this illustrious figure of the Cuban wars for independence.
Aimed at historians, researchers, workers, and students up to 35 years of age. The seminar also opens a space for interested individuals over this age. Who can participate by submitting an application to the organizing committee to be part of the judging panel. Participants may submit works in various genres. Including poetry, essays, music, painting, sculpture, drawing, biography, narrative, software, and digital designs. Biographical compositions and summaries by pioneers will also be accepted.
Each author may submit up to two works, which can be sent by email or delivered in printed form to the Department of Marxism-Leninism and History at the University of Holguin (UHo), the Plaza de la Revolución Monumental Complex, the Calixto García Birthplace Museum, or the Provincial Committee of the Young Communist League (UJC).
The deadline for submissions is November 27th, 2025.
The event will be held in person in Holguin. Offering a platform for cultural and academic enrichment surrounding the figure of Major General Calixto García Íñiguez.
