China sent an air cargo of aid with food and supplies to those affected by Hurricane Melissa in Cuba on Saturday.
The island’s ambassador to China, Alberto Blanco, expressed his gratitude for the country’s solidarity. During a meeting with directors of the International Center for Economic and Technological Exchange.
The Caribbean nation has so far received aid to repair the damage caused by Melissa. From some 27 countries across five continents, according to recent official sources. Following the hurricane, another shipment of food and supplies arrived from UN agencies present on the island. Including roof repair materials, water purification and storage systems, and other essential items.
Deputy Prime Minister Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga noted that since the threat posed by Melissa was announced.
