We have a historic relationship between both countries, says Marrero in Saudi Arabia

Cuba and Saudi Arabia’s interest in elevating the successful cooperation they have developed in the health sector. We are grateful that his help and example have allowed us to strengthen this relationship and confirm the positive state of bilateral relations.”

The Head of Government also noted that during the visit, which began this Saturday as part of his participation in the 9th Future Investment Initiative Forum. Several topics were addressed with the aim of taking bilateral relations to new horizons. “We are setting an example in the public health sector. Where progress has been made and we are working hard.”

Futhermore he noted that both countries share many points of view internationally. Cuba is entirely grateful for the Kingdom’s support and vote in favor of our resolution to end the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America. “We are certain that this Tuesday, they will also do so at the United Nations.”

For his part, Fahad Bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel told the Prime Minister that it was “an honor to receive him” and that he was pleased “to hear that our cooperation is on the right path.” He also recalled when, while visiting Havana, he had also met with senior Cuban officials and experts to discuss ways and means of exchanging experiences and knowledge in the sector.

On Sunday, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Saudi Ministry of Investment and the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment for the promotion of direct investment. An air services agreement was also signed by the ambassador of the largest of the Antilles here, Miguel Porto Parga, and the Saudi aviation authority.
