Cuban President Participates in Vietnam National Day Parade

Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC in the Spanish acronym) and President of the Republic, participated today in the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam National Day, the main event of his official visit to the Southeast Asian country.

The military parade, held in Ba Dinh Square, where Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence in 1945, was described as impressive by the Cuban head of state.
“It is an honor and profound emotion to represent Cuba in the celebration of such beloved brothers,” Díaz-Canel wrote on X.

According to the Cuban Presidency’s report on the same social network, the Vietnamese armed forces and the so-called Fatherland Front, which brings together all sectors of the Vietnamese people. Marched for two hours, demonstrating the unity, national pride, and harmony that characterizes the life of that country.

After the ceremony, the Cuban President told Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh that it was a beautiful and patriotic parade that showcased the legacy of their independence and the unity of their people.

Díaz-Canel arrived in Hanoi, the capital, this Sunday at the invitation of the Vietnamese Party and Government to participate in the ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on September 2nd, 1945.
