I have a great predilection for listening to music, but good music. I have very varied tastes within Cuban and world music, although every good singer is universal.
My favorites include the duo Buena Fe, Moneda Dura, John Secada, Gloria Estefan, Barbra Streisand, Amaury Pérez Vidal, Pablo Milanés, Polo Montañez, and the list goes on and on. But today I want to tell you about Adele, the most famous British singer in the world.
Whatever the case, Adele always sparks interest and inspires passions around the world. She is one of the most listened-to singers of our time, and her album releases are always major musical events.
Today I don’t want to highlight just her voice or her diets that make her a more beautiful woman. I just want to tell you some interesting facts that make her unique in the world of singing.
She chose January to release her first two albums, 19 (2008) and 21 (2011), and November to release her next two, 25 (2021) and 30 (2021). All of them are titled after her age at the time of their release.
Those who know her say she has an unknown, very fun side and a very British sense of humor that contrasts with the melancholic quality of her songs.
One of her greatest possessions is a piece of gum chewed by Celine Dion. Which she has framed and displays in her Los Angeles mansion. Apparently, her good friend, presenter James Corden, interviewed the Canadian singer and asked her to spit the gum she was chewing onto a piece of paper. He framed it and gave it to Adele because he knew she was a big Celine Dion fan.
She confesses to being a true fan of Etta James, Beyoncé, and the Spice Girls, and knows every one of their songs. Apparently, she wanted to sing with the band on their return to the stage in 2019 at Wembley Stadium. But the British band refused for fear that Adele, with her powerful voice, would overshadow them.
Her British character is reflected in her passion for tea and the fact that she always carries ketchup sachets in her purse so she can season the food she’s offered if she doesn’t like it.
Vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist. She writes most of her songs, and she’s proficient on the guitar, piano, bass, and drums. An instrument she has played and recorded for some of her songs.
Her song “Rolling in the Deep,” included on her second studio album, 21, catapulted her to worldwide fame in 2010. In 2011 alone, it sold eight million copies and became the best-selling song by a female artist in the United States. It also reached number one in other countries such as Germany, Belgium, Canada, South Korea, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
In addition to the aforementioned, she has other great hits like “Someone Like You,” “Send My Love,” “Hello,” and “When We Were Young.” It’s difficult to make a top ten list of Adele’s songs.
The singer gave a world premiere of “Easy on Me,” the preview of her most recent album (30). Where 90,000 people were able to hear the song before anyone else.
She recently confessed that she was in Cuba as a teenager, during one of her concerts in Las Vegas. When she announced the sex of the baby of a Cuban couple who attended her performance, and she offered to share the joy publicly.
Despite her fame and being a wealthy artist, she has not stopped being a loving person and defending love and tolerance toward other forms of marriage. She never forgets her good teachers and great friends whom she invites to her concerts.
My greatest dream, as a journalist, would be to interview her one day. Because this beautiful woman, great singer, and wonderful person has remained humble, despite being a huge global celebrity.
