The Clinical Bioanalysis program at the University of Medical Sciences of Holguin. After undergoing a rigorous external evaluation process, was evaluated by the team of experts from the National Accreditation Board (JAN) based on the quality of the substantive processes carried out within it.
The JAN emphasized that this degree program, launched in the 2010-2011 academic year at the “Arides Estévez Sánchez” branch, has performed solidly in the six dimensions analyzed: overall relevance, faculty, students, infrastructure, curriculum, and economic and social impact.
Among the main strengths identified by the evaluators was the alignment between the teaching-educational strategy and political-ideological work a relationship that enables student participation in tasks with a social impact at the community level.
Of this academic training, essential for the functioning of the health sector, the high participation of faculty and students in institutional research projects which provide solutions to health problems at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, was highlighted.
With an enrollment of approximately 200 students, Clinical Bioanalysis also stands out for its effective response to demands for professional development as it offers its own master’s degree and the possibility of two diplomas, three related master’s degrees, and a doctorate.
A source of satisfaction for the university community was the fact that the excellent opinion held by employers regarding the level of professionalism of the program’s graduates was emphasized.
It was also highlighted that the teaching staff has outstanding scientific and academic training, with more than 34 percent holding a Doctor of Science degree or a Second-Level Specialist degree in their field of knowledge.
For their part, students have achieved commendable results on comprehensive exams, aided by broad access to diverse areas designated for learning.
