Alegres de Mayari lift their fourth baseball crown

The Alegres de Mayari showed that history can be changed and, shaking off bad omens. Defeated the Sultanes de Holguin in their Emilio Gómez Stadium. 11×5, in the seventh and decisive game. To become champions of the XLVIII Provincial Baseball Series.

This fourth title has the flavor of revenge for the Alegres. Because after their third and last title, achieved 4-1 against their victims today in 2003. They defeated them 4-2 in 2015, and 3-1 in the last series, which concluded in 2025.

On the other hand, they were able to beat Yusmel Velázquez (4-1) who had been unbeatable in this final. With a pair of victories and fifteen chapters without allowing a run.

When the Mayariceros managed to score four runs against Yusmel in the first inning. In which they hit an equal number of hits, including a double. They were certain, as were their fans, that their chances of winning the crown were certain.

In the end, Yusmel allowed two more runs in the fourth inning and left the mound after 3 1/3 innings of work with six clean sheets. Seven hits, one walk and two walks.

Los Alegres de Mayari will represent the province in the 20th edition of the national tournament of Club Baseball Champions.
