Graduates of Medical Sciences will provide services in communities

Recent graduates of the Mariana Grajales Faculty of Medical Sciences in the province of Holguin will soon provide services in different communities of the municipality of Calixto García.

As explained by Daisi Verdecia Martín, postgraduate teaching methodologist in the General Directorate of Public Health, for three weeks the new medical professionals will receive an introductory course that will allow them to learn even more about human resources, the epidemiological hygienic picture, primary health care, work with the elderly and the maternal and child program. that ensure that they successfully fulfill their community work.

In his words to the new graduates, Dr. Yilmer Aguilera, general director of Public Health in the municipality, offered a detailed explanation of the sector, its challenges and missions to continue providing services to the people.
Likewise, Eriberto Suárez Suárez, secretary of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in the territory, wished the new doctors success in their performance and called on them to work in terms of quality services.

In that sense, Dayamari Leyva Velázquez, one of the graduates, said she felt excited and happy now that she has become a professional. “It is the moment that we all dream of and every gesture, word and detail is appreciated to make the welcome to young people like to heal more beautiful and we will give our best.”

Laura Saavedra Arzuaga also shared similar criteria, who assured that she was well prepared to take on the challenges in the neighborhood. “It is time to demonstrate what we have learned and be faithful continuators of the health care program from the community, we always have expectations and the conviction to do well and win the affection of the people.”

The University of Medical Sciences of Holguin, among the highest enrollments in Cuba, recently graduated more than 900 new professionals, who will provide their services in primary, tertiary and hospital health care in different parts of the province.

On this occasion, 490 of the graduates of Medical Sciences belong to the career of Medicine, 13 to Stomatology, 189 to Nursing and 205 to the modality of short-cycle higher technicians and two of other nationalities.
